The applicants are represented before the Court by Mr Gela Nikolaishvili, a lawyer practising in Tbilisi.2.  The facts of the case, as submitted by the applicants, may be summarised as follows.3.  On 6 September 2006 the applicants were arrested and charged with high treason. On 8 and 15 September 2006 respectively the Tbilisi City Court remanded the applicants in pre-trial detention for two months pending investigation and then the Tbilisi Court of Appeal, at the final instance, upheld their detention.
