The Project shall award competitlve contributory grants for investments in public supportlve lnfrastructure to enable and enhance rural populatlon investments and activities ln on- and off-farm related business. All cases will have to demonstrate the commerclal viablllty of the proposed venture, of whlch the infrastructure lnvestment ls a necessary part. In seeking contrlbutory grants, appllcants shall demonstrate thelr commltment to enhanced rural commerclal actlvltles, not least by showlng thelr linkage wlth prolltable and local poverty- reduclng value chalns and by maklng a contrlbutlon ln cash of at least 596 of the lnvestment cost of the proposed lnfrastructure. Ellglble lnvestments mlght lnclude but are not llmlted to: (l) lrrlgatlon schemes; (ll) secondary rural roads leadhg to pastures and connectlng farms; (lll) communlty water supply; and (lv) communlty natural gas supply.
